One Medical accepts health plans from most insurance carriers, select Medicare Advantage plans as well as Original Medicare and Medigap plans. Many of the plans we accept are listed above. Because the list isn’t exhaustive, and may not include smaller plans, it changes periodically. If you don’t see your plan listed, please call us to verify if your plan is accepted.
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to accept Medicaid. Even if you pay for your membership fee out-of-pocket, Medicaid contracts are very specific about where you receive care. We won’t be able to provide care long-term because we won’t be able to authorize referrals and procedures, lab testing, ordering prescriptions, etc. For these reasons, we recommend establishing care with another provider who is in-network who can meet your health care needs.
Everyone should be able to access quality health care, so if you have a high-deductible health plan or are not insured, we also offer affordable options for working together based on financial criteria.
If you do not have insurance, you can still get care with “self-pay”. You can pay for your in-office appointment or scheduled remote visits directly. The cost will vary based on your visit. Health insurance is a plan, or policy, you pay a premium for that helps cover some of the costs associated with healthcare, like doctors’ appointments, trips to the hospital if you get sick or injured, and medication. Health insurance often pays for preventive care like yearly checkups, vaccinations, and wellness programs.
A co-pay is a fixed amount the patient pays for medical services. The remaining balance is covered by the patient's insurance company. Co-pays may vary within the same plans, depending on the service provided.
A deductible is a fixed amount a patient must pay each year before their health insurance benefits begin to cover the costs. After your deductible has been met, patients typically pay coinsurance — a percentage of the total costs — for any services that are covered by the plan. They continue to pay the coinsurance until they meet their out-of-pocket maximum for the year.
Co-insurance is the amount your insurance company will begin to pay (usually a set portion of call healthcare costs) once you reach your annual deductible.
For in-office appointments and remote visits, we will bill your insurance. Your visit will be coded based on industry standard guidelines, which in turn creates a claim that we file electronically with your insurance carrier.
To ensure proper and prompt processing of your claim, please verify the insurance information we have at the time of booking. If you're covered under two insurances, please let us know before your visit.
