Alexander Cantu, MD
Austin
Doctor of Medicine, a common medical school degree for physicians. MDs at One Medical typically specialize in family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics or pediatrics.
My philosophy in clinic is “Your health is my priority”. I provide evidence-based answers to patient-centered questions. If I do not have those answers, I will research and/or ask others until all questions are satisfactorily resolved. I like to have a holistic approach to patient care and aim to create an atmosphere where people can be themselves around me. By promoting comprehensive wellness and employing non-judgmental listening, I want to be an active partner with patients on their long-term healthcare journey. While I am passionate about caring for the entire family, I have special interests in health promotion, HIV care and prevention, LGBTQIA+ care, and sexual health. I was born and raised in South Texas before going to medical school in Galveston, TX. I completed my residency in Lancaster, PA. However, the Pennsylvania winters shooed me back to the warm embrace of Texas. It was hard to ignore the smell of Austin food after all!
