I'm is a proud midwesterner who grew up in the Kansas City area and attended the combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). I completed my internal medicine residency at UMKC before embarking on a career as an inpatient physician (hospitalist). Practicing in hospitals in Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Arizona, I was a member of multiple leadership committees and played an integral role in the establishment and advancement of different care models. Dr. Smock elected to leave the inpatient world and join One Medical Seniors given his passion for preventative care and desire to focus on a team approach to caring for patients.

How I stay healthy and happy
I am an avid runner and cyclist. I've completed multiple marathons and an ironman distance triathlon. Since moving to Arizona I've enjoyed trail running and hiking in the mountains with my family and dogs whenever the opportunity arises.
