About Emanuel
Emanuel, better known as Manny, focuses on engaging patients in order to understand their feelings, beliefs, and motives toward their health. He prefers a less formal, conversational approach that puts patients at ease and allows them to truly partner with him on their care. He's passionate about infectious diseases, HIV medicine, and integrative HIV prevention.
To keep healthy, Manny eats nutritious foods, exercises regularly, and walks. When he's not working, he enjoys exploring the city with his partner, cooking and baking, trying new restaurants, being entertained by his two rescue cats, painting with watercolors, and reading. He hopes to get more involved in the LGBT community with a focus on aging. Manny earned his medical degree as well as a master's degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his residency and an infectious disease fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He's board-certified in internal medicine and infectious disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
