Sam Fam, DO
New York
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, are fully licensed and board-certified physicians who practice in all areas of medicine. DOs emphasize a whole-person approach to treatment and receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system called osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). DOs at One Medical typically practice in the field of family medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or internal medicine, and may also integrate OMT.
About Sam
I see my role as a consultant, primary advisor, networker, and investor in my patients' journey to achieve their health goals. I enjoy really getting to know patients, listening well, and helping them navigate the health system to their unique life experience. I'm particularly interested in preventive medicine, exercise and osteopathic medicine, pediatrics, and helping people manage chronic diseases, especially obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
To keep healthy, I cook and stays physically active. Outside of work, I love reading, architecture and design, being outdoors, and travel. I graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill before completing my family medicine residency at Duke University. I'm board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
