Sarah Knowlton, NP
North Bethesda
Nurse Practitioner, an advanced practice degree for primary care providers who complete master’s-level training and board certification and who practice medicine independently. Related degrees include ANP (Adult Nurse Practitioner), FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner), WHNP (Women's Health Nurse Practitioner), and APNP (Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner).
As a nurse practitioner, I've worked in both primary care and urgent care settings, as well as the specialty of gastroenterology. I enjoy building relationships with my patients, allowing us to use shared decision making to collaborate on goals for physical and mental health and well-being over time. I'm passionate about preventive health, but I also strive to make my patients feel better as quickly and painlessly as possible if an urgent need arises. My special areas of interest include gastroenterology and improving gut health, LGBTQ+ care, and sexual health and wellness.
